1.      Make a brief summary of the fir-tree in your own words
2.      Use the actantial model to show the relations between the participants in the story

THE ACTANIAL MODEL

Communication axis
Giver:

The model can show where the participants' relationships are redeemed in, for example, conflicts. The protagonist's (subject's) pursuit of a particular solution, becomes central to the conflicting relations, and this is what the model describes.

The object does not have to be a person. It can be a core value such as freedom, justice, truth, peace or anything else. The actants can be filled by people, values, emotion and ideology or something non-material.

AXIS

Communication axis (top)
Who is doing what for whom? Who gets recognition, at who is giving this recognition?
Project axis (middle)
What is it that one wishes to obtain? What is it that must succeed?
Conflict axis (bottom)
This is where the problem really is – who / what is helping or preventing the protagonist in achieving his object?
